Diana Torta

Diana Torta is tenure-track professor of Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Science, KU Leuven Belgium. Together with her group, she investigates how cognitive, affective, and social factors shape acute and long-lasting pain experiences and the associated psychophysiological processes. For this she uses behavioral, psychophysiological, and neuroimaging techniques, especially EEG. She is recipient of personal awards such as the Belgian Pain Society award, the Belgian American Education Foundation (alumna 2017) and the EFIC Grunenthal Prize. Her research is supported by the FWO (2 junior research grants) and the KU Leuven (Starting grant, C1: basic fundamental funding for research).  ​
